We’re delighted to welcome the Well Mother & Child Clinic to Peak Family Practice for a six-week antenatal course designed to help you feel informed, prepared and supported as you get ready to welcome your baby.

Led by Tasha and the experienced Well Mother & Child Clinic team, the course takes you through the practical realities of preparing for birth, labour and delivery, feeding your baby, newborn care and those important first weeks at home.

Dr Tegan Child-Villiers, Dr Megan Buckle and Sr Jemima Scholtz will also join selected sessions, bringing their experience in family medicine, newborn care and childhood health.

What the course covers

Across six weekly sessions, you’ll explore:

  • Preparing for birth and what to pack for hospital

  • Labour, delivery and what to expect

  • Breastfeeding and feeding your baby

  • Caring for your newborn and navigating the first weeks at home

  • Basic infant CPR, choking and first aid

  • Understanding what is normal in a newborn, and recognising when something isn’t quite right

  • Early baby check-ups and vaccinations, including what to expect at the six-week visit

  • Practical guidance and support as you adjust to life with your new baby

The course is also an opportunity to ask questions, meet other expectant parents and build confidence before your baby arrives.

Duration: Six weekly sessions

Cost: R3,500 for the full six-week course, including your course manual

Location

This event will be hosted at Peak Family Practice, 4 Victoria Avenue, Hout Bay.
We’ll gather in our multipurpose room alongside the Peak playground at the back of the building.
