GP | Child and Family Health
Dr. Tegan Child-Villiers
is a family doctor with experience in child health and a strong focus on preventive medicine. She holds an MBChB (with distinction) from the University of Cape Town and a Diploma in Child Health.
Tegan brings a thoughtful, evidence-led approach to every consultation. With a special focus on the first 1000 days, she supports families from pre-conception through pregnancy, newborn care, early childhood development, and beyond. She believes primary care is most effective when families have continuity with a doctor who knows them well - their strengths, their baseline, and their long-term goals.
A lifelong resident of Hout Bay, Tegan established Peak Family Practice to deliver high-quality general practice and child-centred care within the community she calls home. She’s designed her purpose-built space to feel calm, supportive, and family-friendly, reflecting a modern model of care that prioritises time, clarity, and wellbeing.
Outside her clinical role, she is working to expand access to essential services in the valley, including a public-private partnership immunisation clinic within the practice. She is committed to developing a multidisciplinary team united by a clear ethos: excellent care, grounded in meaningful relationships.
Beyond medicine, Tegan is energised by time outdoors with her family, Pilates, and cooking nourishing meals. With extensive travel throughout the African continent, including time in remote communities, she carries a deep appreciation for community resilience and the privilege of accessible healthcare.
Approach to Care:
“I believe good medicine starts with listening. I take the time to understand each patient’s needs and priorities, then provide clear, evidence-based guidance so we can make decisions together. With continuity and trusted support, families feel confident navigating their health at every stage.”
General Practitioner
Dr. Megan Buckle
is a compassionate family GP who believes great medicine starts with listening - understanding the “why” behind symptoms, not just treating the “what”.
Her approach is grounded in evidence-based medicine while embracing a holistic philosophy that considers the person as a whole: body, mind, and lifestyle.
Dr Buckle takes joy in treating the whole family, with a special interest in Child Health, Metabolic Health (Hypertension, Diabetes & Obesity management), Women’s Wellness, Sexual Health, HIV management, and small surgical procedures, including minor skin lesion excisions. She also offers aesthetic medicine, including gentle anti-wrinkle treatments, viewing self-confidence as integral to well-being.
After earning her medical degree from Stellenbosch University in 2018, she completed her internship at Paarl Provincial Hospital. She obtained a postgraduate Diploma in Child Health whilst completing a year of community service at Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital. More recently, she completed a postgraduate certificate in Metabolic Medicine through the University of South Wales.
Dr Buckle enjoys an active lifestyle filled with hiking, running, dancing, and sailing. As a wife and new mother, she has developed a deeper appreciation for Child and Women’s Health, as well as the many transitions of family life. These experiences have strengthened her belief that medicine should be personal, preventative, and grounded in empathy — helping patients feel supported, understood, and empowered to take control of their own well-being.
