Dr Andrew Lane

BMBS (Hons), FRACGP, B Appl Sc Med Lab Sc.

is an experienced family GP. He holds an BMBS with honours from Flinders University in South Australia, and a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. He has practised medicine in South Africa, Australia and the UK.

He has special interests in men’s health, complex and chronic conditions, preventative medicine, dermatology, and emergency medicine.

Before coming to Hout Bay, Andrew mostly worked in rural and remote locations in Australia, where he was often required to provide the medical care for entire towns or regions. This included general practice, anaesthetics, aged care, palliative care, mental health, inpatient care and emergency medicine. Such work necessitated a wide breadth of knowledge, resourcefulness, and also compassion, qualities he brings to his work as a family doctor.

Andrew is married with three children. He enjoys hiking, swimming, writing and reading.
