Dr Andrew Lane

Dr Andrew Lane is an experienced family doctor at Peak Family Practice in Hout Bay. He holds a BMBS with honours from Flinders University in South Australia and a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. He has practised medicine in South Africa, Australia and the UK.
As a male doctor with a particular interest in men’s health, Andrew provides care across all stages of adult life, with special interests in preventative health, complex and chronic conditions, dermatology and emergency medicine. His approach places particular emphasis on early detection, appropriate screening and helping patients understand and manage their long-term health.
Before coming to Hout Bay, Andrew mostly worked in rural and remote locations in Australia, where he was often required to provide medical care for entire towns or regions. This included general practice, anaesthetics, aged care, palliative care, mental health, inpatient care and emergency medicine. Such work necessitated a wide breadth of knowledge, resourcefulness and compassion, qualities he brings to his work as a family doctor.
